THE BIRTHPLACE OF DEMISE

Our home is on fire and the warmth is inviting

Q: What does Batchplant represent??

A: In short, the ease of human life is rooted in a mixture fossil fuels and earthly material. It is creation that kills. The sidewalks, buildings, homes, cities, everything. It will all cause total extinction of the species that are not complicit, and to some extent it already has. The human race is the definition of genocide. We are all hypocrites. I also did concrete for 10 years, and for the first 3 I didn't realize the dust I was breathing has long term effects, and is very likely to give me cancer. Almost no-one who start in construction are aware of that, and safety slows the work down so the big dogs don't bring it up unless they get called out. Anyways... it all starts in a batch plant!

Q: What kind of material does Batchplant use? Any 14oz Japanese demin??

A: F** NO. Organic local suppliers or second hand mediums, only water based ink. We stay away from mass production and whole sale. Batchplant supports Portland's local businesses for stickers and items like that, but we try to re-use and up cycle. The majority of items are one of a kind since everything is hand picked which I really like. The equipment is mostly from hardware stores..not much I can do about that. Like I said, we are all hypocrites.

Q: So u from Portland huh?

A: No, Colorado. Moved to Portland in 2022. I love it here and have no plans on leaving. I got a good friend who makes clothes out in Colorado too, we work together sometimes and bounce ideas off each other. @Talamakstudios check that s*** out.

Q: So what is your goal with all this? Seems like a contradiction to be creating...  you pretty much just said creation is a bad thing.

A: It's all a contradiction. We create to grow, to improve. Creativity is a gift and it's important to use it. I just find it interesting that ultimately, creation is the beginning of the end. Plastic will cover the earth along with everything else we built. But yeah anyways.. I love art, skateboarding and music. The collections are mostly influenced by late 80's & 90's electronic flyers, early power violence, hardcore artwork and systemic hatred. It started because I wanted some band shirts from that era and couldn't find any for under like $200 dollars. It's ridiculous. The same band who are completely anti capitalist, anti government, anti money now have shirts reselling for hundreds of dollars. F*** that, I started bootlegging them. Some people started saying they would buy them, so I figured why not make my own thing? Plus I love creating, everyone does.
