Q: Wtf is Batchplant about?

A: In short, the ease of human life is rooted in a mixture fossil fuels and earthly material. It is creation that kills. The sidewalks, buildings, homes, cities, everything. It will all cause total extinction to species that are not complicit, and to some extent it already has. We are all the definition of genocide. We are the hypocrites. Car fumes and jet fuel are issues, but so are the materials we use for the roads and run ways. Our entire way of life is the problem and there is no solution. Anyways... it all starts in a batch plant!

Q: What kind of material does Batchplant use?

A: Second hand mediums, local suppliers, and water based ink. We use Portland's local businesses for stickers and items like that, but we try to re-use and up cycle as much as possible. All items are one of a kind since everything is hand picked and hand printed.

Q: So you're from Portland?

A: No, Colorado. Moved to Portland in 2022. I love it here and have no plans on leaving. I got a good friend who makes clothes out in Colorado too, we work together sometimes and bounce ideas off each other. @Talamakstudios check that shit out.

Q: So what is your goal with all this? Seems like a contradiction to be adding to the waste.

A: It's all a contradiction. We create to grow, to improve. Creativity is a gift and it's important to use it. I just find it interesting that ultimately, creation is the beginning of the end. Plastic will cover the earth along with everything else we build. But yeah anyways.. I love art, skateboarding and music. The inspiration is mostly late 80's & 90's electronic flyers, skate companies, early power violence, hardcore artwork and systemic hatred. I wanted a breakwater (band) shirt from the early 90's but I couldn't find any for under like $200 dollars. It's ridiculous. The same band who's completely anti capitalist now has shirts reselling for hundreds of dollars. I said fuck that and started bootlegging. Some people started saying they wanted one, so I figured why not?
